HOOLIGAN Theatre Company Wants To Make Magic!

Fun and inspiring musical to open April 5th at the Little Theater in Macgowan Hall at UCLA.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- This Spring, HOOLIGAN Theatre Company is proud to present the international sensation, Fame – The Musical! HOOLIGAN will continue its fourteenth season in the cut-throat halls of New York City's High School of Performing Arts, following several talented and ambitious students on their pain-paved paths to stardom. The show will run from April 5th to April 7th in UCLA’s Little Theater.

Developed by David De Silva after the 1980 musical film of the same name, Fame - The Musical highlights the triumphs and struggles of aspiring performers through the eyes of performing arts students. Among these students are an ambitious dancer, a driven actor, a notorious troublemaker, a determined actress, a dancer with dyslexia, and an overweight dancer. The students in the show face challenges that many performers still face today, such as racism, sexual exploitation, and drug abuse, revealing the realities of show business. In addition to achieving international renown, Fame has also inspired generations of performers to overcome adversity in pursuit of their dreams.

"We are so excited to bring this fun and dynamic show to the UCLA campus!" HOOLIGAN’s executive producers Kiara Bryant and Olivia Crawford said. “We selected Fame because of its focus on the lives of a diverse group of high school students as they face the trials and tribulations of high school, coming of age, adversity and friendship."

Fame – The Musical will run from April 5th to April 7th in Jan Popper Theater, UCLA. Tickets are available through the UCLA Central Ticket Office at (310)-825-2101 or online at www.ticketmaster.com.
